Coffee Grounds

Hi All,

Gemma Dobson has kindly given us some used coffee grounds from the café where she works. They are in the communal shed in a black bag for people to help themselves.

They can be used as a fertilizer or as mulch or can be composted. It is claimed that the caffeine deters slugs. People also mix them with water and use as an insect repellent.

The grass cutting has just started and I wanted to thank Jonathan and Colin for doing such a great job as first on the rota. The allotment looked really tidy when they had cut the grass and a good example of how two people on the rota should cut the grass. Jonathan cut it the first week and Colin the second week.

Best Wishes Chris
