August 07 - site update

Bank holiday Monday saw 6 gardeners, plus several children, at the allotment site to pace out the site ready for ploughing.

The site, south of the tennis court, will be 42m east to west and 52m north to south.

Now that the area has been marked out, the next activity is manuring and ploughing. Malcolm Barker has very kindly offered to do this. He is waiting, if possible, for some rain so that the left-over wheat will germinate and can be destroyed before ploughing.
